Sinema switches to independent, says she ‘rejects party politics’

Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema will now not be a consultant for the Democratic Party, saying early Friday morning she has registered as an unbiased.

“I have joined the growing numbers of Arizonans who reject party politics by declaring my independence from the broken partisan system in Washington and formally registering as an Arizona Independent,” Sinema mentioned in an announcement to 12News.

She made the announcement in an op-ed Friday morning with AZCentral and an interview with Politico.

Sinema informed Politico that she won’t caucus with Republicans and mentioned “nothing will change about my values or my behavior.” Her unbiased registration may alter the best way the Democrats are in a position to use their newly-won 51-seat Senate majority.
