Race For GOP Senate Nomination Tightens In Oklahoma


The race to see which Oklahoma Republican will transfer on to the Nov. 8 normal election in hopes of succeeding Sen. Jim Inhofe is coming all the way down to the wire.

In an unique News 9 / News On 6 ballot, T.W. Shannon has closed the hole to 10 factors in opposition to Rep. Markwayne Mullin. The ballot was comprised of 322 probably Republican runoff voters and was performed August 11-17. It confirmed Mullin with a 49 % to 39 % lead over Shannon.

The ballot’s margin of error is 5.4 %.

Poll analyst Kyle Loveless mentioned that he believes the race is coming all the way down to the wire and that ‘undecided’ voters have been starting to lean extra towards Shannon. The ballot confirmed 12 % of probably Republican runoff voters have been nonetheless undecided, and 68 % of these have been leaning towards Shannon, based on Loveless.

The runoff election is August 23.

The winner will transfer on to the Nov. 8 normal election in opposition to former U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, Libertarian Robert Murphy and Independent Ray Woods.
