New York City man attempted to rape woman on moving subway train: police

New York City police arrested a man on Thursday for allegedly trying to rape a woman final week on a moving subway prepare in Manhattan.  

Chris Tapia, 23, of Staten Island, is charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse, forcible touching, and public lewdness.

Police mentioned a 24-year-old woman was on a moving northbound ‘4’ train on Nov. 17 when an unknown particular person sat subsequent to her. 

The particular person touched the woman and tried to pull down her skirt, police mentioned. The woman tried to flee to one other prepare automotive to security, police mentioned.

The alleged sexual assault comes amid a normal uptick in violence on New York City subways. Earlier this week a woman and an excellent Samaritan have been injured on an L train pulling into the 14th Street Union Square station in Manhattan in an unprovoked attacked.
