Man pleads guilty to transporting migrants across Oklahoma – FOX23 News

TULSA, Okla. — A person who was found transporting unlawful immigrants across Oklahoma has pleaded guilty in federal court docket, in accordance to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

Alfonso Solis-Melendez, a 33-year-old Mexican nationwide, pleaded guilty to transportation of unlawful aliens.

Solis-Melendez and his 11 passengers had been found after the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stopped a minivan for rushing on the Will Rogers Turnpike.

Seven passengers had been driving in seats, and the others had been mendacity across the ground of the minivan.

Through the investigation, authorities realized Solis-Melendez had been paid to transport the passengers from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to St. Lewis, Missouri. The passengers had been from Mexico, El Salvador, Bolivia, and Guatemala.

Solis-Melendez was additionally charged with related crimes in Texas in August 2022.
