SAN ANTONIO – In its 2d 12 months as a state finalist, the Davenport High School band and colour guard is strolling clear of this 12 months’s UIL marching band competition with a number of most sensible honors.
The band’s percussion segment took house first general in the 4A competition. The band and colour guard positioned 6th.
The competition happened at the Alamodome on November 1.
Of the 26 bands that certified for the state competition, 10 complicated to the finals — together with Davenport, which used to be named the 2023 4A UIL Area E Champions.
In simply 4 years, the band has garnered really extensive consideration and enlargement. One house seeing enlargement is in the percussion segment. Only 3 individuals made up the segment in 2020. Now, it has grown to over 24.
Several different house highschool bands took house honors.
In the 6A competition, the Reagan High School band positioned seventh.
Hondo is the one house highschool competing in the 3A competition. Wednesday, November 8, is the general day of the competition.
