Scammers are figuring out themselves as BCSO deputies, which is not one thing new in Central Texas. But the sheriff’s workplace stated the scammers have now managed to spoof their phone number, along with the use of the names of present deputies.

The sheriff’s workplace says scammers will name an individual to inform them they’ve pending misdemeanor fees for lacking jury responsibility and that they want to report back to the Burnet County Clerk’s Office to settle the fees or pay through card.

Authorities wish to remind Burnet County citizens that they may be able to name the non-emergency workplace quantity at 512-756-8080 if they’ve any questions on a phone name they gained.
