‘You make me risk it all:’ Broward high school teacher accused of having sex with student



HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The FBI arrested a social research teacher in Broward County who they are saying is accused of having sex with one of his 15-year-old scholars.

According to court docket paperwork, Boris Fernando Bastidas, 35, was once arrested Thursday morning via the FBI and the FBI Miami Child Exploitation Task Force.

A legal criticism states that Bastidas was once a teacher at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory, a Catholic high school in Hollywood.

The FBI mentioned on or round Feb. 12, they won a telephone compliant referring to a statutory rape of a 15-year-old feminine via a lady who known herself because the sufferer’s mom.

Authorities won written consent to look the software of the sufferer who mentioned she spoke with Bastidas during the school’s e-mail account and their conversations later moved to private accounts to incorporate Google emails, Google chats and textual content messages.

“I’m never gonna judge you the way you thought I would. You’re one of the best students I’ve had, so I can’t judge you, but you’re not just a student at this point.” Bastidas texted the sufferer on or round Aug. 3, in step with the criticism.

“I know that now. Ever since I’ve gotten to know you, I’ve known that. You’re the best teacher I’ve had but do you also rlly think you’re just my teacher at this point? Cuz you haven’t been just my teacher for a while now, you been so much more and have meant so much more,” the sufferer spoke back thru textual content message,” the criticism said.

On or about Sept. 23, 2023, government mentioned Bastidas had the next dialog thru textual content message with the sufferer:

“I’ll always love you. I need you. I wanna love you,” he wrote.

“I’ll always love you too, I need you so much, and I want your love, I wanna give you my love,” the sufferer spoke back.

Bastidas went on to mention ” I want you to touch your body. I want my body on yours, I want to f— you.”

“I want that too Boris,” the victim responded. “I want our bodies to connect. I want our bare bodies on each other.”

The complaint states that on Oct. 25, 2023, Bastidas sent the victim an email describing how he felt about her.

Bastidas stated, “Since then, we’ve shared and said so much. We’ve gone from emails to texts, and it’s been cute, romantic, passionate and hot. We pour out in the messages we send, and we finally touched and finally kissed and l want more. There’s not a lot I would do to risk so much of my professional life, my reputation, even my personal life for…but for some reason, you make me risk it all,” according to the complaint.

Prior to school starting last August, the victim and Bastidas discussed meeting up to discuss their feelings towards each other, she told detectives.

The victim told authorities that they met at a Dunkin’ in Monarch Lakes where they had their first kiss, the report stated.

The victim admitted that she took photos of herself and would send them to Bastidas, authorities said.

The complaint also alleges that Bastidas had the victim perform oral sex on him on multiple occasions, including in the parking lot of the victim’s job in Miramar.

The victim told the FBI that Bastidas had sexual intercourse multiple times with her during the school’s Model United Nations field trip to New York, where he was her chaperone, the complaint stated.

The victim also stated that Bastidas would often give her gifts that included jewelry, T-shirts and a keychain, which were photographed by the FBI.

According to the school’s Instagram page, Bastidas was awarded “Educator of the Year” in 2023 and was the chair of the social studies department.

A court hearing is scheduled for March 19 at 9 a.m. where a magistrate judge will decide if Bastidas should be released on bond ahead of his trial.

FBI officials said because this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
