Women’s Basketball signs Oregon State transfer Taylor Jones


AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Women’s Basketball head coach Vic Schaefer introduced Monday the addition of transfer ahead, Taylor Jones from Oregon State.

A 3-year starter and All-PAC 12 Conference honoree, Jones joins the Longhorns with two years of eligibility remaining.

The Forney, Texas, native began 9 video games in an injury-shortened 2021-22 season. She averaged 12.4 factors and 6.9 rebounds per recreation whereas taking pictures 64.9 p.c from the ground.

During her sophomore marketing campaign in 2020-21, Jones was named to the All-PAC 12 Honorable Mention Team after averaging 12.3 factors per recreation whereas main the convention in rebounding (8.9 RPG) and ranked No. 2 in  discipline objective proportion (.556).

Jones was named to the PAC-12 All-Freshman Team in 2019-20. She averaged 12.3 factors and seven.3 rebounds per contest and set the OSU freshman report for single-season blocks (60), which was additionally the highest mark within the PAC-12.

During her prep profession, Jones was two-time Adidas All-American and was rated the No. 43 prospect within the nation within the class of 2019 by ESPN W/HoopGurlz. She helped lead Dallas Christian to a pair of state titles, was a three-time All-State honoree and completed with over 2,000 factors in her profession.
