Woman dies after falling into rapids at Grand Canyon



A lady died final week after apparently falling into rapids throughout a river journey at the Grand Canyon.

Mary Kelley, 68, was on a personal boating journey Thursday when she fell into the water close to Hance Rapid on the Colorado River, in response to the National Park Service. Others on the boat pulled her out of the water and commenced CPR.

Park rangers additionally tried to lifesaving measures after arriving by helicopter, however have been unsuccessful, the park service stated. It’s unclear whether or not the lady was sporting a life vest when the incident occurred.

Kelley was on day 9 of what the park service described as a “non-commercial” boating journey.
