Woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend in 2016 found not guilty of murder

A lady accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend is again in a court docket for a retrial of her case.

Amanda Montoya is accused of shooting Cesar Gallegos, 47, within his house in the 100 block of West Ansley in March 2016.

Montoya’s first trial in 2020 ended in a hung jury. The state determined to retry the case, and it all started on Tuesday in the 227th District Court with presiding Judge Christine Del Prado.
