Why is Twitter not loading? Service back after Thursday outage

WASHINGTON — Twitter customers internationally reported disruptions in service Thursday morning. 

The web site DownDetector.com, which tracks outage reviews submitted by customers, indicated a big spike in disruptions beginning at about 8:05 a.m. Eastern. By 8:15 a.m., the variety of reported points handed 50,000. After 8:30 a.m. Eastern, these numbers steadily declined. 

Around 9 a.m. Eastern, it appeared Twitter’s service was back up and working. 

The points had been impacting Twitter’s cell app, web site and the TweetDeck app.

On the cell app, some customers have been getting a message that “Tweets aren’t loading right now. Try again.” Some utilizing the desktop website have been logged out after which when making an attempt to log back in have been despatched to an error web page that acknowledged: “Something went wrong, but don’t fret — it’s not your fault. Let’s try again.”

There’s been no official phrase but on what could have triggered Thursday’s outage. 

Thursday’s disruption comes as Twitter is settling in for a significant authorized combat towards Elon Musk. Twitter sued Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday, attempting to drive him to finish his $44 billion takeover of the social media firm by accusing him of “outlandish” and “bad faith” actions which have triggered the platform irreparable hurt and “wreaked havoc” on its inventory value.

Twitter’s lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court asserts that “Musk refuses to honor his obligations to Twitter and its stockholders because the deal he signed no longer serves his personal interests.”
