The animal in these viral pictures is a coyote with mange, in keeping with Grapevine Animal Services.

Steve Cooley first noticed the lean, hairless animal wandering in his yard weeks in the past.

“I was mowing the lawn on the 15th, and he kept hanging around the next-door neighbor’s yard while I mowed,” Cooley stated.

So, Cooley picked up his digicam, snapped some pictures and shared them along with his Facebook associates. Then they shared his put up and their theories on what the creature may very well be.

“My neighbor says chupacabra,” Cooley wrote on his put up.

If legendary creatures aren’t you are factor, a “chupacabra” is a folklore creature believed to assault livestock and drink its blood.

But this story is non-fiction.

A Grapevine Animal Services supervisor squashed the chupacabra principle rapidly.

“The animal in the photo is a coyote with mange,” Supervisor Kristina Valentine wrote in an e-mail to WFAA.

Mange is a pores and skin situation that happens when parasitic mites embed themselves in a mammal’s pores and skin or hair follicles and causes hair loss.

If you see the coyote and produce other pets, Valentine stated to maintain them inside till the coyote’s been safely eliminated and name animal companies at 817-410-3370.

Putting the Chupacabra jokes apart, Cooley stated he hopes the coyote can be discovered safely and nursed again to good well being.

“He was favoring a hind leg and once again was hanging out in the back yard. He’s not been seen since and I fear the worst for him,” stated Cooley.
