Water levels at Canyon Lake have residents, business owners worried


CANYON LAKE, Texas – Water levels at Canyon Lake have reached an rock bottom.

Over the previous few months, water levels have been losing incessantly. Prolonged drought prerequisites are a major factor.

According to the Water Data for Texas, a 12 months in the past, Canyon Lake was once on the subject of 90 p.c complete.

Today, it’s sitting at about 68.5 p.c.

Residents within the house say they have in mind water levels being about 17 toes upper, launching their boats from a considerably upper level at the boat ramp.

“It’s unbelievable how low it is from last year,” Andrew Clark, a boater at the lake, stated. “When we moved out here last April, it was full. Last summer, it slowly started going down, and now it’s staying down.”

Sean Nelson is visiting the lake from Houston.

He says the answer is discreet; it’s simply onerous to return through. Nelson and his spouse are eager for rain.

“Well, we have a big god, right? He’s going to let the windows open sometime and fill it back up. It’s just nature, it’ll happen,” Nelson stated.

And whilst the lake waits on important quantities of rain, one boat apartment business proprietor says she’s looking to keep afloat.

However, ramp closures are making it tough for business.

“Because of (ramp closures), we are having to drive over here, redirect our clients over here, and also there’s a lot of lines that build up over here, so it delays our clients getting out on the water,” Katelyn Seimet, whose boat apartment business has been affected, stated.
