Watch: Deputies work to save man from Florida river after car crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities have been ready to rescue a man after he crashed right into a Florida river and carry out CPR on him atop his nearly-submerged automobile on Saturday morning.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office mentioned the car, which appeared to be a pickup truck, went over the railing of a bridge and crashed into the Caloosahatchee River close to Fort Myers.

In video of the accident, seen within the video participant above, the truck seems to swerve from the middle lane and into the precise lane, colliding with one other truck that was pushed into the wall. The sufferer’s truck is then lifted over the railing and into the water under.

Authorities rushed to the scene and deputies went into the river to seek for the motive force. Photos shared by Fort Myers police on Facebook present only one wheel of the automobile was protruding of the river at one level.

In the video, Captain Steve Brady and Deputy Julian Chala may be seen performing CPR on the man atop his automobile till a rescue boat arrived.

“We are so proud and honored to have amazing deputies who will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of our great residents!” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.

After the boat arrived, the man was taken to a hospital for remedy. His present situation is unknown.

Three autos have been concerned within the crash, Fort Myers Police instructed local reporters. The situations of others concerned are unknown.
