Want to learn to compost? Garland is offering a free workshop this month

Garland is offering a free composting workshop this week for these hoping to increase their backyard recreation this summer time.

The metropolis’s water utilities division is internet hosting Rooted In, a North Texas backyard middle and conservation group, to educate the fundamentals of composting on Saturday, June 4.

Composting enriches soil, helps it retain moisture, reduces the necessity for chemical fertilizers and cuts down on methane emissions from landfills, in accordance to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The workshop will happen from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 417 on the Garland Fire Administration constructing.
