UT Tower Lighting to honor Women’s Golf set for tonight


AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Tower can be lit in burnt orange tonight to commemorate the Texas Women’s Golf 2022 Big 12 Conference Championship. Per custom, the University acknowledges UT sports activities packages who win a convention crew championship with a burnt orange lighting of the campus landmark. 

The Longhorns claimed the title for the fourth time within the final 5 Big 12 Championships with 54-hole rating of 24-over-par 876 (291-287-298) at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas on April 22-24. Texas received the match by three strokes over No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 15 Baylor, who tied for second place. UT captured the convention championship title for the seventeenth time in program historical past (1984, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2011, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022).

Last week, Texas completed second on the NCAA Albuquerque Regional and is set to return to the course for its sixth-straight NCAA Championship look later this week (May 20-25) on the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Texas will tee off on the No. 1 tee beginning at 2:25 p.m. CT on Friday.
