TX Democrat Carl Sherman declares bid for Ted Cruz’s seat in 2024

State Rep. Carl Sherman, D-DeSoto, introduced Saturday he’s operating for U.S. Senate, changing into the newest Democrat to release a marketing campaign to problem Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.

Sherman, a pastor, jumped in the race calling for upper salaries for law enforcement officials and extra hospitals in rural spaces of the state.

“Texas needs a United States senator who will stand up for all of us, our children, our families, small-business owners and the working people of Texas. We need more good paying jobs in Texas, not just jobs, but good-paying jobs,” Sherman stated.

Sherman was once first elected in 2018 to constitute House District 109, a solidly blue district south of Dallas. He up to now was once mayor of DeSoto.

Sherman recently serves as senior pastor at Church of Christ in Hutchins.
