Lawyers for Donald Trump requested a federal pass judgement on Thursday night time to set an April 2026 trial date in the case in Washington charging the previous president with conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The instructed date is a dramatic counter to the Justice Department’s advice final week of a Jan. 2 trial.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan is anticipated to set the date all through a court docket listening to scheduled for Aug. 28.
