Tiktok ban for Collin County government devices



COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — People who work for Collin County will now not be allowed to have TikTok on their government-issued devices. 

With greater than 85 million customers within the U.S., the video-sharing cellular utility TikTok is owned by a Chinese firm that employs Chinese Communist Party members and has a subsidiary partially owned by the Chinese Communist Party, Abbott famous in letters to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Speaker Dade Phelan and state agency leaders.

Regarding TikTok on private devices, Abbott mentioned Texas DPS and Texas Department of Information Resources will develop a mannequin plan for different state companies by Jan. 15, 2023. Each company could have till Feb. 15, 2023, to implement its personal coverage.

The governor mentioned his workplace was prepared to help in codifying and implementing any vital cybersecurity reforms when the 88th Texas Legislature convenes subsequent 12 months, together with passing laws to make his directives on TikTok everlasting.
