SAN ANTONIO – Hemisfair Park used to be illuminated with colourful lanterns as other folks collected for analysis, advocacy and enhance for blood cancer sufferers.
The annual Light the Night Walk, hung on Saturday evening, introduced in combination survivors and supporters to shed light at the darkness of cancer.
Thousands of other folks carried their lighting fixtures to lift cash and awareness for blood cancer.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society raised a minimum of $800,000 to discover a remedy and make stronger the lives of survivors.
The purple lanterns are for enhance, gold for remembrance and white for survivors. Each is an emblem of hope and party.
Maggie Rodriguez proudly held a white lantern, sharing a spark of hope.
“Remembering how I felt during treatment, how I felt when I was diagnosed and seeing all the support. The people who are here. The people who are walking just to be a part of it are just amazing,” Rodriguez stated. “You can do it. If it’s possible for me, it’s possible for you.”
