According to a release sent from the office of 8th Judicial Circuit State Attorney Brian Kramer late Wednesday, an ACSO deputy was cleared for using deadly force against Heckard, 39, of Gainesville, and that the deputy acted in lawful self-defense of himself and other citizens present.”
• WUFT News: A dairy farm in Trenton is popping cow poop into earnings. “Dairy and beef cattle farms produce about 2% of total worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. According to Climate Watch Data, in 2018, 2% accounted for 1 billion tons of greenhouse gas. Alliance uses a system called an anaerobic digester to process their manure. From the outside, it just looks like a large concrete platform covered in metal pipes. But Del Bottcher, a soil and water engineer who worked on Alliance’s digester installation, said the system is much more than meets the eye.”

The ordinance requires landlords to meet living standards, provide property maintenance and pass inspections.”
• Miami Herald ($): Shades of Parkland: Cops in Texas face scrutiny over response to mass capturing at college. “Even though police officers around the nation have been increasingly trained on how to respond to active shooters, the Uvalde case — as with the Parkland massacre — nevertheless underscores the challenges first-responding cops face when confronting a heavily armed gunman in confined spaces. Law-enforcement experts say concerns about the police response are legitimate, although it’s too early to definitively pass judgment on whether officers acted appropriately.”
