MCKINNEY, Texas – A Texas prosecutor says he will not seek the death penalty for a man convicted of killing two elderly women and suspected of killing just about two dozen general.
“Billy Chemirmir is an evil one that preyed upon our maximum susceptible voters,” Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement Thursday.
“Although he is certainly deserving of a death sentence, my decision … is informed by the fact that he has already been tried three times in another county and he will never be a free man again,” Willis mentioned.
The first homicide trial of Chemirmir, 50, for the slaying of Lu Thi Harris, 81, ended in mistrial in Dallas County. He used to be later convicted in a 2nd trial for Harris’ death and convicted of a second killing in the death of Mary Sue Brooks, 87.
Chemirmir has (*2*) of the crimes.
Authorities say Chemirmir preyed on older women, killing them and stealing their valuables.
He used to be stuck after a 91-year-old lady survived an assault and advised police he pressured his method into her condo at an impartial residing group for seniors, attempted to smother her with a pillow and took her jewellery.
Police mentioned they discovered Chemirmir the following day in the parking zone of his condo complicated maintaining jewellery and money, having simply thrown away a big purple jewellery field. Documents in the jewellery field led them to the house of Harris, who used to be discovered lifeless in her bed room.
