TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas High garnered five of the 9 superlatives on the 8-5A, Division II all-district soccer team, launched Wednesday.
Tiger senior Ean Crite was the Defensive Player of the Year; senior teammate Briley Barron was the Offensive Lineman Player of the Year; sophomore working again Javari Johnson was chosen because the Offensive Newcomer of the Year; sophomore linebacker Isaiah Dowden was tabbed because the Defensive Newcomer of the Year; and Gerry Stanford was the All-District Coach of the Year after Texas High claimed its third outright district championship.
District MVP went to Hallsville senior quarterback Jace Mosley, Whitehouse junior QB Josh Green was the Offensive Player of the Year, Marshall senior Carson Combs was the Defensive Lineman Player of the Year, and Hallsville senior Zach Southard was picked because the Special Teams Player of the Year.
Eight Texas High gamers have been chosen to the all-district first team and 4 extra have been chosen to the second team.
Senior John Jack was tabbed to the first-team offensive line, and senior Richard Jackson was a first-team middle.
Freshman Tradarian Ball was a first-team working again, and senior Xavier Dangerfield and junior T.J. Gray have been picked to the primary team as a large receivers.
On protection, Brandon Childs was named as a defensive deal with, Shitez Wilkerson was chosen as an out of doors linebacker, and C.J. Brown was picked at security to the primary team. All three Tiger defenders are seniors.
THS’ second-team choices included junior Evan Holman on the offensive line, junior Brandon Hall at receiver, junior Kenneth Merriman at defensive deal with and junior Tyquan Black at defensive finish.
