Texas heat: Animals found dead on Parker County property



The animals who died didn’t have a recent water supply, based on a news launch from the sheriff’s workplace.

PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A Parker County lady faces animal cruelty prices after authorities found a number of dead animals on her property, together with a number of horses, a peacock and a bull, officers introduced in a news launch Wednesday.

Police say Shamorrowia Jeanette Alexander, 31, of Whitt, was arrested Tuesday on eight counts of animal cruelty to livestock animals and one depend of cruelty to non-livestock animals.

The animals who died didn’t have a recent water supply, based on a news launch from the sheriff’s workplace.

Authorities had responded Tuesday to the girl’s property within the 4200 block of North Farm-to-Market Road 52 on an animal welfare examine. When they arrived, they found a decomposing bull inside a pen, close to an empty hay feeder.

Deputies searched the property and found different dead animals, together with a sorrel horse, two miniature horses, two emus and a peacock.

Most of the animals didn’t have entry to recent water; and the one two water sources on the property had algae “and other contaminants,” the discharge stated.

There had been additionally rabbits, turkeys, chickens and a goat on the property. The goat was alive in a pen with no water, although neighbors reported they gave the goat water after discovering none out there, officers stated.

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier urged residents to ensure their animals have recent water out there.

“In the climbing temperatures, it is imperative” to offer recent water for animals, Authier stated within the launch.

Temperatures have constantly climbed above 100 for the final two weeks in North Texas, and no measurable rainfall has fallen within the space since June 3.
