Texas attorney general Ken Paxton tells the Supreme Court state social media law should stand



Texas attorney general Ken Paxton argued that the state law, barring platforms from blocking customers based mostly on viewpoint, doesn’t violate the First Amendment, which protects personal firms from authorities regulation of speech. In a response to the petition, filed by tech business teams, he says that social media platforms are the “twenty-first century descendants of telegraph and telephone companies” and that they should be handled as “common carriers,” that are topic to authorities regulation.
