Testimony continues in trial for Florida woman accused of stabbing husband to death


The homicide trial of Danielle Redlick resumes in Orange County on Friday.

Redlick is accused of stabbing her stepfather-turned-husband to death in their Winter Park residence again in 2019. More witness testimony is predicted and in some unspecified time in the future, Redlicks’ youngsters, the proprietor of the courting app she used, and the health worker are supposed to take the stand. 

Opening statements bought underway on Thursday. Prosecutors argued Redlick was sad together with her marriage and wished out. They say she checked her courting app and Googled “how to slit wrists” in the 11 hours earlier than she referred to as 911.

According to the police report, Redlick waited 11 hours earlier than calling 911 saying Michael had a deadly coronary heart assault. Then, she claimed he stabbed himself after they’d a combat. An post-mortem report appeared to contradict these claims.

She’s additionally accused of making an attempt to clear up the scene.

One of the officers who first arrived to the house took the witness stand on Thursday. Redlick’s protection says she stabbed her husband in self protection. They say Michael Redlick attacked her when he discovered she was messaging one other man.

Michael was a well known University of Central Florida college member. The two have been married for 14 years and had two youngsters collectively. 

Redlick is charged with second-degree homicide.  She faces life in jail if convicted.
