Suspect in South Carolina mall shooting on house arrest after judge sets $25,000 bond


The suspect in a South Carolina mall shooting in which 9 individuals had been wounded has been launched below house arrest and ordered to put on an ankle monitor after a judge set a $25,000 surety bond.

The suspect, Jewayne Price, can also be barred from contacting any of the victims, Columbia police stated on Twitter.

Price can be allowed to journey from his residence to work whereas he’s below house arrest.

Neither Price nor his lawyer may instantly be reached for remark.

Initially three individuals had been suspected and detained, however two had been launched, officers stated.

The shooting Saturday at Columbiana Centre injured 14 individuals — 9 with gunshots and 5 who had been damage whereas fleeing.

Before he revised the numbers, Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook initially stated 10 individuals had been struck by gunfire, two of whom had been critically injured, and that two others had been injured whereas fleeing.

In addition to the 9 individuals with gunshot wounds, different individuals suffered damaged bones, lacerations and a head damage that was sustained whereas fleeing, police stated Saturday night time.

The victims are ages 15 to 73.
