SURFSIDE, Fla. – Former Surfside Commissioner Eliana Salzhauer says her son’s arrest after being accused of battering a present commissioner after a gathering Wednesday used to be politically motivated.
Salzhauer is referred to as a vocal critic of town’s present management and the mummy of Joshua Epstein.
Surfside police arrested Epstein, 18, on a criminal rate of battery on an elected legit Friday once they mentioned he driven Vice Mayor Jeffrey Rose after a fee candidate discussion board.

“Keep pushing me, you already pushed me once, you do it again and see what happens,” Rose is heard pronouncing at the video.
“I haven’t touched you,” Epstein responded.
Salzhauer advised Local 10 News her son is blameless and his arrest used to be the results of “unchecked power in town hall.”
“This is Third World thuggery,” she mentioned. “To use the police force to silence an opponent is something we see happen in Russia.”

In a commentary Monday, a Surfside the city spokesperson mentioned partially that “a thorough police investigation was conducted, and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office was consulted prior to an arrest being made due to the sensitivity of the matter.”
