Stop filming in Oklahoma, Georgia


TULSA, Okla. — California’ Gov. Gavin Newsom is asking on Hollywood to cease taking pictures in states with strict abortion and anti-LGBTQ legal guidelines in a letter on Thursday.

Newsom penned a letter to Variety Magazine urging Hollywood executives to cease doing enterprise in states which are waging “a cruel assault on essential right.” He particularly named Georgia and Oklahoma as examples in his letter as each states have a few of the strictest legal guidelines regarding abortion rights and protections.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the letter comes a day after Newsom endorsed help for laws that may prolong California’s movie and tv tax credit score program by way of 2030 and make investments $1.65 billion in this system, which is funded by way of 2025.

Newsom is asking these in energy at studio corporations to “walk the walk” in their selections in productions and filmings in the long run.
