Pep Guardiola has continued his chaotic defence of Manchester City in gentle of their latest Premier League fees by claiming Steven Gerrard’s well-known slip in 2014 is a second that ‘belongs’ to them.

When Guardiola addressed the media within the aftermath of this ruling, he accused different Premier League sides (specifically Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy) of conspiring towards Man City.

“The goal from Sergio Aguero [in 2012 against QPR], when [Mario] Balotelli slipped. I don’t know if we are responsible for Steven Gerrard slipping at Anfield [in 2014 against Chelsea]. Was that our fault? I have respect for Steven Gerrard – but that moment belongs to us.
“The moments that we lived these years collectively, the Premier League will determine…however I do know what we gained and the best way we gained it. I do know the hassle we put in. If one thing occurred in 2009 or 2010 it isn’t going to change one second.”
