“The New York Post and everybody related to this story needs to be ashamed of themselves for suggesting that Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives Sheena Wright — an Ivy League-educated, former main non-profit govt, who has an extended profession of groundbreaking accomplishments — was employed as some type of favor, or in return for ‘sleeping’ together with her long-term companion. This sexist rhetoric and vile insinuation are past the pale and don’t have any place in public discourse.

“In addition, DOE Senior Advisor Tracey Collins is a veteran educator with greater than 30 years of expertise. There was a retirement in the Division of School Leadership this spring, and Tracey utilized for the publicly posted, aggressive place and went via a rigorous course of that didn’t embrace City Hall’s oversight. DOE has made clear that she was, far and away, the most certified of all candidates for the place, which is why she was the solely finalist introduced to Chancellor Banks. Once once more, it’s flat out sexist and vile to recommend an achieved, extremely skilled, lifelong public servant was solely given this place due to who her long-time companion could also be.

“The New York Post owes both women an immediate apology.”
