Southwest ISD providing free mental health services at new center


SAN ANTONIO – Southwest ISD on Monday celebrated the hole of a new mental health center the place households and scholars can get right of entry to services free of rate.

“This is definitely a response from COVID-19, and we know that mental health is a major issue, and it’s on the forefront of a lot of our conversations,” stated Priscilla Vomero, a mental health therapist at Southwest Cares Center.

Vomero stated each and every room at the Southwest CARES Center is other and brings a relaxing setting.

“Neutral tones to really create a calming space for students and families,” Vomero stated.

The areas had been created to serve the 14,000 scholars at Southwest ISD. There shall be seven therapists to supply healing services.

The center will be offering free one-on-one counseling and team treatment classes.
