Fort Myers, FL – An Uber driver has been arrested after allegedly raping a passenger that he dropped off at a Southwest Florida house advanced.
Lee County Deputies arrested Felix Torres after the 37-year-old rideshare driver allegedly raped a passenger that he dropped off on the Ashlar Apartments in Fort Myers on Sunday.
According to authorities, safety cameras captured Torres attacking the sufferer moments after he dropped her off.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno tells NBC 2 News “the victim was walking to her door when she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground. She tried to scream — the suspect covered her mouth. She tried to fight, but she was overpowered.”
Sheriff Marceno says Torres took the sufferer’s cellphone earlier than working off.
LCSO obtained a search warrant of Torres’s dwelling, the place he admitted to deputies that he works for Uber and that he drove the sufferer dwelling.
Torres has a prison previous that features prices of armed theft, grand theft auto and drug prices.
