SAN ANTONIO – A girl who says she is said to the circle of relatives in a Bexar County child abuse case says she reported them to the state a number of occasions.
Samantha Feathers says she is sisters with Amanda Mann, who was once arrested Sunday on a number of counts of child endangerment, at the side of her spouse, Dustin Lawrence.
“The kids weren’t being fed. They were dirty. They weren’t being taken care of. There was drugs in the house,” Feathers claims.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says Mann took a one-year-old lady to the clinic with critical burns after which left her.
The child later examined certain for meth, in accordance to Sheriff Javier Salazar.
Investigators discovered two-month-old twins and a 2, 6, and 8-year-old dwelling in what they describe as deplorable stipulations.
According to Bexar County Jail data, Mann and Lawrence face fees of endangering a child, endangering a child risking physically damage, damage to a child leading to critical physically injury-reckless, and 4 counts of leaving behind/endangering a child with intent. Feathers says she tried to observe up on her court cases to the State Child Abuse Hotline.
“A caseworker called me the next day. I mean, she was asking me all the stuff, and then I told her. And she said, ‘We’re going to investigate,’” she mentioned about one of the days she referred to as. “Then I called them back, and they said that they’re just going to make them go to a parenting drug class. So they could keep the babies because they don’t want to take the babies away from their parents.”
A spokesperson for CPS would no longer ascertain if the company has had any prior touch with the circle of relatives, pronouncing it was once phase of the investigation.
However, the spokesperson showed 6 youngsters were taken into state custody.
