See photos inside cave previously hidden underwater at Canyon Lake; remnants of old town also revealed



CANYON LAKE, Texas – Canyon Lake has been making headlines all summer season for report low-water ranges, however extra not too long ago the receding water revealed a cave that was once previously hidden underwater.

One guy who works at the lake went to appear inside.

JM Perez, who works at Canyon Lake Marina, spoke with on Wednesday and mentioned he’s been gazing the water drop day-to-day.

“Lots of history being uncovered. It’s sad but interesting,” Perez mentioned.

Perez went to take a look at the cave on Tuesday afternoon and shared photos from inside, telling he best went again about 10 ft however he estimated the cave most likely went again about 30 ft.

“I saw lots of stalagmites. No writing or anything. It was beautiful,” Perez mentioned.

He also shared photos of the old Hancock bridge close to Boat Ramp 17 and the remnants of an old area that was once also an element of the town.

Hancock and Crane’s Mill disappeared from the map after Canyon Lake, which is in truth a reservoir, was once created. Construction on Canyon Lake Dam began in 1958 and was once completed by way of 1964, however the lake wasn’t stuffed to the conservation pool stage till 1968.
