PALM BAY, Fla. – The Palm Bay Police Department clarified Monday that it was still looking for a suspect who got into some sort of altercation with his roommate, which prompted an alert on Sunday night for people to be on the lookout for an “armed and dangerous” person.
Palm Bay Police also backtracked an earlier statement about a shooting and said the situation was an isolated incident between roommates, and that the roommate was cut and taken to the hospital.
“There is no direct threat to the public,” police said.
Police said the roommate at the hospital is considered to be in stable condition. Additional details were not released.
As for the person police are looking for, police describe him as a 40-year-old man with a full beard, dark shirt, and jeans. His name has not been released.
