Rohit Sharma, Sourav Ganguly & others react as India beat England in U19 Women’s T20 World Cup final



India made historical past on Sunday (January 29) as they clinched the inaugural version of Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final by defeating England in the final.

Chasing a paltry goal of 69, India reached the set whole in 14 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

Earlier, India’s bowling assault, led by quick bowler Titas Sadhu and leg-spinner Parshavi Chopra, dished out a superlative efficiency after electing to area first. Sadhu returned with spectacular figures of 4-0-6-2 whereas Chopra snapped two wickets for 13 runs.

Sadhu was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for her economical spell.

“The way all the girls are performing and backing each other, so happy. Incredible feeling. Thanks to the staff, the way they have been backing us everyday and telling us that we are here for the cup and because of them we are here. All thanks to them,” Shafali Verma, the profitable captain, mentioned in the post-match presentation ceremony.

“The players have been backing me a lot. Thanks to BCCI for giving me this beautiful team and really happy for winning the cup,” she added.
