Mitchell – Robert Raymond Graumann, 94, went to his heavenly house Wednesday, February 15 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell. Funeral service will probably be Monday, February 20 at 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church close to Dimock. Visitation will probably be Sunday, February 19 from 2 to 4 pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.
Bob was born July 24, 1928 to Gustav and Julianna (Neumann) Graumann close to Granite, Greer County, Oklahoma. He was baptized as a Child of God on August 12, 1928 and reaffirmed his religion on April 18, 1943 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Granite. Bob was the youngest of 11 youngsters and instructed many tales of his years rising up on the household farm south of Granite, going to high school, fishing with pals, curler-skating, attending Sunday college and Walther League. He attended Liberty Country School and Granite High School, graduating in 1947. After commencement, he labored on the farm with considered one of his brothers. He was united in marriage to Anna Drefs on June 29, 1952. The couple lived on the farm in Oklahoma for 3 years the place Bob farmed and labored highway building. They moved to a farm in Douglas County, South Dakota the place they owned and operated a dairy farm till retiring and shifting into Parkston, SD in 1996. Bob labored within the Senior Citizen’s Center till shifting to Countryside Living in Mitchell, SD in 2016. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1980, was a county commissioner, and loved taking part in playing cards with pals, singing within the St. Peter’s Choir and attending Farm Bureau picnics the place he would grill pork chops.Â
Grateful for having shared his life are his spouse, Anna of Mitchell; 4 youngsters: Ivan (Carlen) Graumann of Idledale, CO; Clyde (Dianne) Graumann of Rapid City, SD; Curt Graumann of Gillette, WY; and Shirlyce (Todd) Weisser of Mitchell; 7 grandchildren and 13 nice-grandchildren.
He was preceded in loss of life by his mother and father and 10 siblings.
