Research continues on development of a commercial-scale olive industry in Florida

For greater than a decade researchers and growers have been exploring the potential efficacy and financial affect of creating a commercial-scale olive industry in Florida because the state’s iconic citrus industry continues to face challenges stemming from citrus greening illness.

The nonprofit Florida Olive Council, the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, and different companions have been conducting the analysis and in current years, they’ve been making advances in figuring out olive varieties that may thrive even in Florida’s hotter southern areas.
