The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has confirmed pink tide was found in water samples from Southwest Florida.
The organism was found to be current at various ranges in Sarasota County, Charlotte County, Lee County and Collier County.

Respiratory irritation suspected to be brought on by pink tide was reported in Sarasota County.
There are not any experiences of fish kills associated to pink tide at the moment.
