Rain, snow in Hawaii forecast; most of U.S. gets winter weather break

Every half of Hawaii is under a weather alert as a meteorological occasion often called a kona low continues to dump water and snow on the state this weekend.

It’s been raining in Hawaii since late Friday, and flood watches are in impact by way of Saturday afternoon. A winter storm warning is also in impact on the Big Island by way of Saturday night, with a mixture of heavy snow and freezing rain anticipated at greater elevations.

Meanwhile most of the remaining of the nation can sit up for a nice weekend weather-wise.
