Publix super markets recognized as top Florida recycling champion


Publix super markets has been named finest general firm by the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation as the 2022 Recycling Champion.

FRP, a coalition of companies and associations devoted to bettering Florida’s recycling, awarded the Florida grocer the top award for its dedication educating workers and prospects about recycling.

“Publix remains committed to being responsible citizens in our communities, which includes caring for the environment,” stated Publix Director of Environmental and Sustainability Programs Michael Hewett. “We continuously examine processes in our stores, warehouses and offices, looking for additional ways to recycle.”

Publix was recognized for its dedication throughout the corporate to recycling training, together with its plastic bag recycling marketing campaign to teach prospects and its inside Green Routine program which inspires associates to make sustainable decisions. Because of those efforts, Publix has recycled greater than 615 million kilos of cardboard and greater than 21 million kilos of soppy plastics in 2021.

The Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation determines the Recycling Champions award winners from firms, organizations, authorities entities or people that show a noteworthy influence on the recycling business within the state of Florida.

Nominations have been submitted this previous fall and judged by the Sustainable Business Club of the sustainable enterprise program within the Department of Economics of the Miami Herbert Business School on the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
