MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Prosecutors won’t search the demise penalty for convicted killer Dayonte Resiles when his sentencing trial begins in May.
Resiles was convicted in March of murdering 59-year-old Jill Haliburton Su in her Davie residence in 2014. Prosecutors stated Resiles broke into Halliburton Su’s residence in a housebreaking try and killed her when she discovered him. Su’s son discovered her physique, stabbed and certain, within the bathtub.
He made headlines once more in 2016 after escaping from the Broward County Courthouse. It took an almost weeklong manhunt earlier than he was again into custody.
Because the state is not searching for the demise penalty, Resiles shall be sentenced to life in jail, a compulsory punishment. Sentencing is ready for May 20.
