Port Arthur man indicted for setting wife’s house on fire

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A 58-year-old Port Arthur man accused of setting his wife’s house on fire has been indicted on an arson rate.

Jerome Anthony Holmes, 58, of Port Arthur, was once indicted on Wednesday and is accused of setting his wife’s house on fire after the 2 have been arguing. Arson is a primary level legal.

Holmes’ 60-year-old spouse known as 911 on Oct. 27, 2023 and informed dispatchers that her husband had threatened to burn down the house consistent with a possible motive affidavit within the case.

When police arrived on the fire, which began beneath the entrance of the house, they discovered Holmes leaving the scene consistent with the affidavit.

Holmes again and again requested officials about his spouse and apologized a number of instances but if officials requested him what he was once apologizing for he would no longer resolution them the affidavit stated.

Police say his spouse noticed him get started the fire earlier than she known as 911 and informed them he had informed her he was once going to mild a pillow on fire and put it beneath the house consistent with the affidavit.
