DALLAS — Families are counting down the hours to Christmas.
For many households in Dallas’ Pleasant Grove neighborhood, that meant packing the car parking zone outdoors Omar’s Wheels & Tires on Friday.
“I’m surprised to see everything. All of it is awesome,” stated Bonnie Latson.
Neighbors, younger and previous, bundled up within the chilly to wait their probability for little girls and boys to choose a toy. It’s all a part of store proprietor Omar Omar’s annual vacation custom.
“I love doing it. I love seeing kids smiling. They walk the aisle, and pick out whatever toys they like,” Omar defined.
The vacation toy giveaway is about neighborhood and supporting those that’ve supported the small business proprietor.
“It’s really amazing to see everybody coming together,” Antwan Kelly stated.
Omar’s Wheels & Tires gave away quite a lot of toys, bikes, electronics, and different surprises to 500 children this Christmas. It helped ease the burden on some mother and father.
“We went through a lot last year. It was a really rough year,” Latson defined.
The occasion introduced a little bit of happiness to households who stated instances are kind of powerful.
“You know, it was hard this year. Coming back off of COVID. I think we all had a little hardship and something to overcome coming into the New Year,” Amber Robinson defined.
