OSBI investigating after police fatally shoot man in McAlester | News

Police shot and killed a man who investigators stated brandished a weapon after officers responded to a reported psychological well being disaster Saturday evening.

Officers initially responded Saturday evening to the 1900 block of Green Meadows Drive in McAlester for a psychological well being disaster, McAlester Police Chief Kevin Hearod stated.

MPD Public Information Officer Lt. Mickey Virden stated after officers arrived, a man brandished a weapon and legislation enforcement officers on scene shot the man.

Virden stated the man was taken to the McAlester Regional Heath Center, the place he was pronounced useless.
