HUTCHINSON ISLAND, Fla. — Residents and guests on Florida’s Treasure Coast spotted one of the rarest whales on the planet this week.
A customer mentioned he was staying on the Turtle Reef Club close to Jensen Beach when he spotted a proper whale with its calf simply off the coast.
He mentioned he determined to seize his drone, recording some spectacular video that few individuals ever have an opportunity to witness.
North Atlantic proper whales have been listed as endangered underneath the Endangered Species Act since 1970, in accordance with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Latest estimates recommend there are fewer than 350 proper whales remaining, with fewer than 100 breeding females.
Commercial whalers hunted North Atlantic proper whales to the brink of extinction by the early Eighteen Nineties.
NOAA tweeted Thursday that proper whales are at present on the transfer alongside the east coast, heading south for the winter the place they provide delivery.
They advise everybody to offer them 500 yards of area.
