Mark Calcut Jr. died on Dec. 31. He was a member of Detachment 1, Company C, third Security and Support Battalion, a hundred and fortieth Aviation Regiment. “We are saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Mark,” Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino, adjutant normal for Oklahoma, stated within the news launch. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark’s family, friends and the soldiers he served alongside.”Tulsa-area tv station KJRH reported that Calcut died in a motorbike crash – a few week after proposing to his fiancé on Christmas Day.Tulsa police advised KJRH that Calcut was concerned in a motorbike crash round 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 whereas attempting to get on the Highway 169 ramp from westbound Interstate 244. His motorbike hit a truck and a guardrail, and he was thrown off a bridge.Calcut, 28, joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 2017 as a wheeled car mechanic and transferred to the Oklahoma National Guard in February 2020.Funeral providers will probably be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the Church of Saint Benedict in Broken Arrow. Interment will observe the service on the Calvary Cemetery at 9101 South Harvey Avenue in Tulsa.
