Officer shoots, kills Texas teen suspected of stealing vehicle


SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A 13-year-old was shot and killed by a police officer after crashing right into a patrol automobile, police stated.

At 1:02 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 5100 block of War Cloud in reference to a number of photographs fired, in line with a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers positioned the suspects vehicle, which had been reported stolen. While trying to cease the vehicle, it accelerated in direction of an SAPD patrol vehicle and crashed into it.

An officer, fearing that one other officer could be struck by the vehicle, shot on the vehicle and struck the motive force, the report acknowledged.

The suspect, a 13-year-old male, was handled on the scene and was transported to a neighborhood hospital. He was later pronounced useless.

Two different juveniles within the vehicle have been unhurt.

The investigation stays ongoing.
