NYLCV Gives Green Announces 17 New Endorsements Across the State

NYLCV Gives Green is worked up to announce the ultimate spherical of endorsements for the 2023 election cycle. With a complete of 17 new endorsements, the League is proud to fortify applicants who’ve demonstrated a robust dedication to preventing local weather exchange and selling good environmental insurance policies. In this newest spherical, the League is endorsing applicants for legislative and government places of work in the Capital Region, Westchester County, New York City, and on Long Island.

“From apocalyptic wildfires and hazy orange skies to extreme flooding to record shattering heat, the climate crisis has arrived on our collective doorstep, and it is clear that voters are prioritizing the environment when choosing their candidate,” mentioned NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “We are thrilled to endorse these outstanding candidates for elected office and are confident they will be strong advocates for clean energy, clean water, green jobs, and a healthier future. We urge voters to support them in their upcoming election.”

Today’s announcement brings the general selection of NYLCV-endorsed applicants statewide to 131, the maximum in an off-year election in its 34-year historical past and a sign that the surroundings continues to develop in significance for citizens. Of the 48 applicants from the first spherical of endorsements, 95% of them gained their number one election, and the League seems ahead to sporting this momentum into the common election and past.
